W A R T highlights ‘cultural heritage’ destruction as one of the potential effects of the war.
Since World War II, protecting cultural monuments from shelling and bombing has evolved
into a critical practice, utilizing protective structures like sandbags, scaffolding, and steel
shelters to prevent damage to cultural property. The 1954 Hague Convention, prompted by
widespread wartime destruction, established legal requirements for protecting such sites.

RE:Ukraine Monuments (Balbek Bureau Kyiv Ukraine) is a protection system developed
in order to prevent and secure local monuments and sculptures.
